Students’ Participation in Students Parliament Competition
Goa Legislature Secretariat at Porvorim organized Students Parliament competition on 16th February 2024. This report documents their active engagement and contributions to the discussions on various pressing societal issues during the event.
The participating students represented our college with enthusiasm and dedication. They embraced the opportunity to voice concerns on behalf of their community and actively participated in the parliamentary proceedings. The students underwent thorough preparation and training. They engaged in research, discussions, and mock debates to familiarize themselves with parliamentary procedures and the topics of discussion. In order to have a better understanding of assembly procedures, Mr. Durgadas Kamat from Goa Forward party provided guidance and support, ensuring that the students were well-equipped to articulate their ideas effectively.
During the competition, our students raised pertinent issues affecting society, including the condition of roads, tourism development, drug menace, and waste disposal. In addition to the question hour, our students actively participated in other segments of the competition, such as Calling Attention, Zero Hour, and Discussion on Urgent Matters. The competition fostered a vibrant exchange of ideas between the ruling and opposition parties, with our students contributing meaningfully to the discourse.
