Session on “Special Information drive on LIC Agents” (for female students)
The Department of Management Studies, in collaboration with the Women’s Cell, organized an informative session on LIC Agents exclusively for female students of various programmes, on 21st August 2024 from 11.30 am onwards in Hall 2, Central Block of VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics. The session was conducted by Mr. Dattaram Dhaimodkar, Chief Advisor at LIC, who provided valuable insights into the career opportunities and growth prospects available to those considering becoming an insurance agent.
During the session, Mr. Dhaimodkar explained the procedure to become an insurance agent, including the necessary steps and formalities. He introduced the IC 38 exam, a mandatory certification for aspiring insurance agents, and emphasized the importance of preparing for this exam using available online mock tests enabling students to practice and succeed. These resources are essential for those aiming to pursue a career in the insurance sector.
Furthermore, Mr. Dhaimodkar demonstrated tools like the ‘Smart All-in-One Calculator’, an app that provides comprehensive details about different insurance products. It is a tool designed to simplify the various calculations required in the insurance sector. To support interested students, forms were distributed at the end of the session. The session concluded at 12:10 pm, leaving the 65 female students with a better understanding of the potential career path as LIC agents.
Expected Outcome of the Activity:
The session aimed to increase awareness among female students about the career opportunities available as LIC agents, enhance their understanding of the IC 38 exam and motivate them to consider pursuing a career in the insurance sector. This initiative is expected to lead to more informed decision-making and possibly a rise in enrollment for the LIC agent certification process.
