Session on “Lean Entrepreneurship”
The Innovation Council (IIC) and the E-Cell of the VVM’s Shree Damodar college of Commerce & Economics, organized a session on “Lean Entrepreneurship” in association with FiiRE on 23rd August 2024 from 11.00 am to 12.30 pm in Classroom-F104. The resource person for the session was Mr. Tushar Samant, Enterprise Development Manager at FiiRE. The session commenced with Vice-Principal (administration) Dr. Shami Pai welcoming the resource person.
Mr. Tushar introduced the concept of lean entrepreneurship, emphasizing how startups and larger ventures can prioritize the efficient use of resources while maintaining continuous innovation. He also emphasized building and scaling businesses with minimal waste, focusing on customer feedback and product development. Additionally, he outlined the qualities necessary to become a successful entrepreneur and introduced students to major government schemes that support startups, such as the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY), the PM Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency Scheme, among others. The session provided valuable insights into the entrepreneurial journey, and students gained knowledge about startup growth strategies, funding opportunities, and innovation practices. A total of 53 students attended the session.
Expected Outcomes of the Activity:
Students will develop an entrepreneurial mindset by acquiring new skills and exploring funding and growth opportunities in the startups. As a result, the students will learn to prioritize the efficient use of resources while continuing innovation, both in startups and larger ventures.
