The Post-Graduate Department of the College organized a PG Club activity – ‘Poster Making and Presentation’ for the students of M.Com Part I and Part II on 29th April 2022 from 11.00 am to 12.30 pm. The topic for the presentation was Legislative Framework of Corporate Governance in India: Listed Companies, Unlisted Companies, PSUs, Banks and Insurance Companies. The objective behind organising this activity was to bring out the creative expression in the students and to gauge their knowledge and awareness on legislative framework in the area of corporate governance in India. This activity will help in measuring the attainment of CO1 and CO2 in the subject of Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility in semester IV for the accounting and finance students.

The students were exposed to various mechanisms of corporate governance and regulatory practices followed by different institutions in India. They had to assess the strength and role of such regulatory practices on the working of a corporate entity and discuss its importance to an investor and general stakeholders at large. They will also develop an understanding of the importance of good governance practices for listed companies and the negative impact of ineffective governance practices for corporate houses and other institutions.

In addition to this, the students explained and highlighted various corporate scams and scandals in relation to the topic assigned to them to support their explanation. The Part II students presented the poster to the Part I students and explained the topics very briefly. It was a very informative and an interactive session for all the participants.  50 students attended the same. The entire activity was planned and implemented under the supervision and guidance of the subject faculty Ms. Pooja Shanbhag, Assistant Professor in Commerce, PG Department.
