Patriotic Singing Competition
The Cultural Council of the College organized an Inter Department Patriotic Singing Competition on August 17, 2023. The competition was a remarkable showcase of talent and patriotism, with students from various departments participating wholeheartedly.
The competition began at 11:30 am with Ms. Abha Naik, a student from SY B.Com, taking up the role of the compere for the day. Her spirited hosting set the stage for a day filled with patriotic enthusiasm and musical excellence.
The Principal, Prof. Prita D. Mallya, in her welcome address emphasized the significance of celebrating our nation’s rich cultural heritage through music. Her words of encouragement set a positive tone for the event.
Two musicians, Ms. Usha Gauncar, LDC in RMS Higher Secondary, and Mr. Rahul Ratnakar Naik, were the judges for the competition. Ms. Pavitra Gadkar introduced them to the audience, highlighting their expertise in evaluating musical performances.
A total of seven teams participated in the competition, representing their respective departments. The teams included Shershah, Uri, Raazi, Kranti, Swades, Gold, and Border. After captivating performances by all the teams, the winners were announced by Assistant Professor Ms. Delisha Rebello, who commended all the participants for their dedication and enthusiasm. Team Raazi from the B.Com Programme emerged as the winners of the competition, securing first place. The first runners-up were Team Kranti, representing the Postgraduate Department of Commerce. The second runners-up position was claimed by Team Border from the Department of Management Studies by BBA(FS) students. The competition not only showcased the musical talent of the students but also their deep love for the nation.
The event ended at 1:15 pm as Ms. Rubi Mahato delivered the Vote of Thanks.
