Participation at 25 years Celebration of NCHRO
The National Confederation for Human Rights Organisation hosted 25 years Celebration on 26th March 2022 at SVD Seminary Hall, Raia-Goa from 9.30 am to 4.00 pm. 09 students of the College were deputed for the programme. The programme was on issues based on the theme: ‘Land, People and Culture’.
The programme began with a melodious Haryanvi song on human rights. Members of NCHRO from different states like Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala etc were present for the programme. Fr. Savio Fernandes addressed and welcomed the gathering. Students from various colleges also attended the sessions. The deliberations were held on topics related to human rights such as how human rights are being violated in the society, how we can secure our human rights and the different initiatives taken by NCHRO over the years were also highlighted.
A book was released as a part of the celebration titled “Why do you fear, my way so much” by G.N.SAIBABA. The transgender community was also invited for the programme. The members of NCHRO from different states spoke about the current scenario of human rights and its violation in their respective states expressing their views and suggestions.
In the end representative of ‘Goencho Awaz’ spoke about the harmful effects of coal mining in Goa and gave a brief report on situation of Goa in the past 5-6 years. The programme concluded at 4.00 pm. The students were awarded Certificates of Participation. The event was coordinated by Ms. Marjina Shaikh, In charge of Value Education Cell. 05 B.Com students, 2 BBA (FS) and 2 M.Com students attended the session.
