Live session on ‘Orientation on Mentoring’ for students
The Students Welfare Cell organised ‘Orientation on Mentoring’ for the students of FY BCA and FY B.Voc.(ST) on 30th October 2021 via MS Teams at 12.30 pm. Ms. Amba Prabhu, the College Counsellor was the Resource Person for the session.
The Counsellor introduced the mentor-mentee system to the students. She explained the role of the mentor assigned to the student. She highlighted the importance of speaking regularly with their mentor which will help them share their issues, problems, dilemmas if any, without any fear as the information will be kept confidential. She suggested that the students have to maintain good rapport with their mentor. She emphasized that the mentor will help them with choosing their career path, motivate them, help in goal setting, identify their weakness or the challenges faced and guide them accordingly. She also mentioned that the students can approach her if needed. The sessions were attended by 82 students.
