‘Entrepreneurship and challenges faced to build a startup’
The P. G. Department of Commerce (M.Com) organized a Guest session on ‘Entrepreneurship and challenges faced to build a startup’ on 22nd October 2022. The Resource Person was Mr. Vijay Yadav, CEO at Coastal Beverages LLP, Bicholim. The objective of the session was to encourage students towards entrepreneurship and to create awareness about various aspects and challenges faced by young entrepreneurs. 47 M.Com students attended the session. Mr. Myron Pereira, Asst. Professor in Commerce welcomed the audience. Mr. Vallabh Natekar from M.Com-I introduced the Resource Person, Mr. Vijay Yadav.
Mr. Vijay Yadav commenced the session by sharing his life experiences as an entrepreneur. He spoke about the key requirements needed for a startup. He explained skill based and capital intensive projects which students can take up to build a startup. He added “Skill based project is better for students to start as it does not require much capital”.He showed certain important websites providing information about various schemes and grants offered by the Government of Goa. He also gave a brief about the detailed Project Report, which is essential to raise funds from banks and investors. He also spoke about the difficulties faced in managing working capital requirements and utilization for capital intensive projects. Mr. Vijay also gave students an opportunity to ask questions related to startup. Finally, he encouraged the students to start their own venture.
It was an informative session, as the students learned about entrepreneurship and the various aspects and issues faced to build a startup. The program concluded at 12.40 pm with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Ms. Shine D’Souza from M.Com-I.
