Annual Awards Day 2024
The College organized its Annual Awards Day on 27th March 2024. Mr. Prakash Pereira, Managing Director, Armacar Holdings Pvt. Ltd, was the Chief Guest for the function. The Principal, Prof. Prita D. Mallya, in her welcome address, paid tribute to late Principals Shri. Devidas V. Borkar and Shri. Gulab M. Prabhudesai, who passed away recently.
The Principal then welcomed all the guests and acknowledged and expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the founding members and Chief guest for gracing the occasion. The Annual Awards Day function commenced with reports from the General Secretaries of the three student bodies – Mr. Satvik Satardekar, Ms. Shambhavi Naik Gaunkar, and Mr. Siddhivinayak Hadapad. They presented reports highlighting the various activities conducted by their respective student bodies throughout the year.
The annual report of the College was presented by the Principal, Dr. Prita D. Mallya. In her report, she congratulated the teachers and students for their hard work and dedication and highlighted the remarkable achievements of the College. The report outlined the wide range of activities undertaken by the College, including guest lectures by renowned experts, outreach activities to serve the community, industry visits to provide practical exposure, certificate courses to enhance skills, and participation in workshops and competitions to foster learning and growth.
The Vice Principal, Dr. Edwin Barreto, introduced the Chief Guest, Mr. Prakash Pereira. In his address, he extended heartfelt congratulations to the College for its excellence in imparting quality education and acknowledging the remarkable journey of the institution. Mr. Prakash Pereira highlighted the unique characteristics of today’s world, emphasizing the need for hard work and integrity while dealing with the advent of modern tools like AI. He encouraged the students to leverage their strengths to seize opportunities and make a positive impact in their chosen fields. The Chief Guest spoke about his personal upbringing, highlighting his journey to become one of the most respected businessmen in Goa. He asked the audience to always strive to work hard, face all difficulties, and help others while they rise to the pinnacle of their respected fields.
During the Prize Distribution Ceremony, students were awarded certificates and trophies for their achievements in academics, sports, NCC, NSS, and cultural activities. Special mention was given to NCC (Army) Cadet SUO Aditya Joshi, who participated in the Overseas Development Camp (YEP) to Thailand and Indonesia, and NCC (Navy) and Cadet PO Vaishnavi Borkar, who represented Goa at the Republic Day 2024 in New Delhi and was part of PM Rally 2024. The event was skilfully hosted by comperes Ms. Sheryl Sanches and Dr. Rodney D’Silva. The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks from Vice Principal Prof. Sanjay Sawant Dessai.
