My Story: A Technopreneur’s Road to Success

The Department of Computer Science E-Cell and Incubation Centre, in collaboration with the TechTrendz Club, organized an insightful session titled “My Story: A Technopreneur’s Road to Success” on 24th August 2024, from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm in Classroom S-203. The session featured Ms. Kanan Tandi, Co-founder of CogniCue, an Emotion AI tech company and an influencer, who shared her entrepreneurial journey and insights into the world of technopreneurship.

Ms. Sandra Fernandes, a student of FY BCA A, introduced the resource person to the students. Ms. Kanan Tandi began her session by sharing her personal journey, detailing her transition from an average student to a successful technopreneur. She discussed the challenges she faced while establishing CogniCue.

Ms. Tandi elaborated on the concept of Emotion AI, explaining how CogniCue leverages artificial intelligence to analyze human emotions and its potential applications across various industries. Her narrative was both inspiring and informative, offering practical insights into the startup ecosystem, particularly within the tech domain. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, where students actively engaged with Ms. Tandi, asking questions about entrepreneurship. Her responses were insightful, offering valuable advice on navigating the challenges of starting and running a tech-based business.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks addressed by Ms. Sandra Fernandes, the student coordinator of the event. Asst. Prof. Vinaya Kirloskar was the faculty in-charge of the session, and Asst. Prof. Annette Santimano was the in-charge of the TechTrendz Club. A total 32 BCA students attended the session.

Expected Outcome of the Activity:

The session was highly successful in motivating students to consider technopreneurship as a viable career path. It provided them with a realistic perspective on the challenges and rewards of becoming a technopreneur, particularly in the AI sector.
