“PixelSplash”, An AI-generated Art Exhibition
The Department of Computer Science unveiled a groundbreaking event – “PixelSplash”, An AI-generated Art Exhibition to showcase AI-generated images through the imaginative prowess of the FY and TY B.Voc.(ST) students, meticulously curated by Mr. Sandesh Gaundalker, Graphic and Visual designer, Illustrator and Visiting faculty. The faculty coordinator of the exhibition was Ms. Annette Santimano, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Computer Science. The exhibition was the first-of-its-kind in Goa, which was held from 22nd to 24th February 2024, on the ground floor, Central Block of VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics. The pioneering event aimed at exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and artistic expression, bringing forth a diverse array of visual experiences that showcased the limitless potential of machine-generated art.
The event not only provided a platform for students to showcase their creations but also marked a significant stride in Outcome-Based Learning, aligning with the principles of the educational philosophy. The exhibition is the outcome of a workshop titled “Artificial Imagination” conducted on 17th January 2024 by Mr. Sandesh Gaundalker under the TechTrendz Club. It has evidently played a crucial role in equipping students with the skills and knowledge required to create AI-generated art, aligning with the principles of Outcome Based Learning.
The following student participants have pushed the boundaries of traditional artistic expression by harnessing the power of AI algorithms to generate visually stunning and thought-provoking pieces.

The exhibition was inaugurated on 22nd February 2024, at the hands of Chief Guest Capt. Venzy Viegas, MLA of Benaulim Constituency. Ms. Shaina Kamat, student of FY B.Voc.(ST) was the event compere. The inaugural function concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Anito Fernandes, FY B.Voc.(ST) student.
