The TIP Cell of the College conducted training sessions for students to improve their interpersonal skills on 12th, 13th, 14th, 22nd and 27th February 2024. The sessions began with a team building activity where students played the role of employees of a company. Interactive workshops, role-playing exercises, and group discussions were utilized to explore different communication styles and techniques. Emphasis was placed on active listening, non-verbal communication, and overcoming communication barriers. Time management tools and methodologies were introduced, including the Pomodoro Technique and task prioritization frameworks. The next training sessions covered topics such as professional dress codes, networking etiquette and professional correspondence. Best practices for composing professional emails, managing email overload, and using social media platforms for professional networking were discussed. The last training session explored different conflict resolution styles, negotiation techniques, and strategies for managing difficult conversations.
The five-day training program proved very valuable in equipping participants with professional skills essential for success in today’s dynamic workplace. Asst. Prof. Omkar Pawaskar was in charge of the training sessions. 78 students attended the sessions.
